Cleaning windows: Using the window tool logo

Tip: Cleaning cloth
The cloth used for cleaning can be washed at 60°C. Be sure, however, not to use any fabric contitioner since this would reduce their ability to absorb dirt and moisture.

How does a steam cleaner work?
A steam cleaner works very much like a pressure cooker. Water is heated to boiling point in a sealed boiler to produce steam. This takes between 1 and 6 minutes per litre of water.

Tip: Small children
Small children tend to put things in their mouths. In this way, cleaning agent residues enter the child´s body and can trigger allergies. Steam cleaning protects you and your family, for unlike cleaning solutions, steam condensate leaves no residue on surfaces.

1. When using a steam cleaner for the first time, do a "basic cleaning" operation: Using the hand tool with a cloth tucked round it, rub down each pane completely. Rub down again with a dry cloth.

2. Using the window tool, moisten the glass with steam first, then wipe down with the window tool´s rubber squeegee,
working down from the top. In winter: Preheat cold windows from a distance of about 5 cm.

3. If you want to clean windows from outside, please pay attention to the following safety point: Steam cleaners are made
for inside use and, for safety reasons, must not taken outdoors. The picture above shows our way of solving the problem.

4. After the initial cleaning, window cleaning will be easier in future: Simply steam the whole window strip by strip inside and out with the window tool, working down from the top. Hold the tool about 10 cm away from the glass.

5. Now wipe the rubber squeegee over the window, working strip by strip from top to bottom. To avoid streaks, wipe the squeegee dry with a cloth after each strip.

6. If the odd drop of water remains after wiping the rubber squeegee across the window - no problem. For a streak-free
finish, simply wipe the remainingdrops off with the cloth.
